Dental Health: Laser Use in Dentistry
Since 1995 dental lasers have been used in dentistry to treat a lot of dental problems. No laser system has received the American Dental association’s seal of approve, despite of FDA approval. This seal insures dentists that this product has the same standards of safety and efficacy. The ADA, though, states that it is carefully positive about the role of laser skill in the field of dentistry.
Still, some dentists are using lasers to treat:
* Tooth decay. If you have tooth decay then laser are used to remove the decay and make the surrounding enamel for filling, it is also used to harden a filling or cure.
* Gum disease. Lasers are used to redesign gums and remove bacteria at the time of root canal procedures.
* Biopsy or lesion removal. Lasers help to remove a small part of tissue, it is also called biopsy. So through lasers you can also detect cancer. Laser is used to get rid of lesions in the mouth; and relieve the pain of cancer injures.
* Teeth whitening. Lasers are used to accelerate the in-office teeth whitening. By laser energy a peroxide bleaching solution, applied to the tooth surface is activated which accelerates of the whitening process.
